About Us

Marigold + Oak Flower Co. is a daydream turned small business operated primarily by me, Laura! However, I could not do it without the support and help of my husband Colin and my amazing family (shout out to the best Mom and Mother In Law for always lending a helping hand!) Forever grateful for my people. 

The marigold is a beautiful flower that hold many special meanings to different people. My best friend Caitlin shared a story of the marigold with me that she heard when she was starting her career as an elementary school teacher. She taught me that marigolds are companion plants, meaning they encourage growth of other plants and support the overall health of the garden. The symbolism meant so much to her that she and one of her great friends and fellow teachers began to refer to one another as each other's marigolds. I was inspired by the story they shared, and I began to think of marigolds in the same way. In addition to my flower business, I work as a clinical social worker (aka mental health therapist.) In my work and in my personal life, I strive to encourage and support others. Though I'm very far from perfect in this practice, I strive to love my neighbor as myself. Marigolds also come in a variety of colors including my favorite mustard yellow, so I mean what's not to love?!

Oak trees symbolize beauty and strength. Aside from their meaning, they remind me of my husband, Colin. He is a forester who works in the timber industry and is an avid outdoorsmen. He believes in my crazy dreams and encourages me to grow. Life is so much better with him.

• We believe in sowing seeds during seasons of uncertainty and seeking stillness of mind. 
• We believe in sending flowers to someone you love just to let them know you care. 
• We believe in sparking joy through creativity.
